IZLA (Ivette Alé) is the founder of La Joteria and Brooklyn's original queer global bass party AZUCAR. For the last four years IZLA has been creating space for queer people of color that is sonically diverse and unapologetically political. Her #TROPIKVNT sound is a representation of global QTPOC, blending Digital Cumbia, Hard Dembow, Zouk Bass and Reggaeton with Vogue, Jersey Club, House, Techno and R&B. Her cosmic dance floor has traveled from Brooklyn to Detroit, Boston to Mexico City sharing the stage with some of the most innovative underground artists, including: Los Rakas, TECLA, Zuzuka Poderosa, Maluca Mala and Princess Nokia. Most recently, IZLA brought the #TROPIKVNT sound to the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday party before a crowd of 900.
