Amaka Okechukwu

Groundswell: Oral History for Social Change
Amaka Okechukwu is a scholar-activist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her scholarly and teaching interests include social movements, Black politics, intersectionality, and public humanities. She has engaged in community-based work with Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, Brooklyn Movement Center, the Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership, and others. She is interested in developing and documenting community-based oral history projects as a means of community building and knowledge production.
